Here I am with another tip to help you win some big cash money this year. Just so you know, in my own pool, I won in 2005 and came in second the past two years, so I know what I'm talking about.
#2: How to Pick The 7-10 and 8-9 Matchups. These games are often hard to pick, but despite their realative uselessness, they are worth just as much as any other first round game. So if you want to get that all important first round lead in your pool, here are the big stats to help you pick them. The 10 seeds likely to pull out the win over the 7s are teams that average 75 or more points per game and win by an average of 7 points per game. These are offensive teams that aren't all a product of close wins. These don't help you win that much. These teams are 16-9 against the 7 seeds. In the 8-9 game, the 8 seeds that win are usually battle scarred. Looked for an 8 seed that went to the tourny last year and have won no more than 3 straight games heading into the Big Dance. These 8 seeds are 29-16 in the first round, while those that aren't are 12-31. Using these two tips, you are bound to do better than the usual 50-50 clip people usually are in these big toss ups.
Well, there's #2! Hope you find it useful.
