I'll join only if you take pride in the fact that this is an official "hate group" because I hated every damn news story, radio show, pre-game show and post game show that did nothing but gush about Brett Favre. Cmon, it will be fun seeing all the cheeseheads lose their collective minds.

In a show of support to my group host, I, along standing, die-hard Bears fan, and one who freely admits that he has handed my team some embarrassing losses, categorically stae that I TRULY respect the man for what he has done for his team and the game. I'm glad he can't beat the bears anymore, but if he isn't first ballot hall of fame, then someone needs to start an investigation.

Careful, stauff. I've had to put up with REAL hate speech on the NASCAR group I help administrate for the past week.
Still, it's fun to see a anti-Favre group on here. I can see it's "good-natured fun", and I've got no problem with it.

Yeah. I hated the loads of attention he got that was almost bordering on the erotic side. My least favorite is, "He's just a good example of an American because he endorses Wrangler Jeans and the troubles he has gone through." Except most Americans don't make millions of dollars and have a following like the Beatles and Jesus.

Alright, look. I see what you're saying. ...and thanks for giving Brett his props. There are some twisted people you'll meet who genuinely hate Favre. ...or Peyton Manning or Michael Jordan or whoever. They hate just because others love. It's sad. They're often Vikings fans. Need I go on.

Anyway, you guys apear to be of a slightly different sort (Larry B notwithstanding). You hate the media blitz. You hate seeing people gush. You hate John Madden telling you fifty times that Favre's great. You'd rather be able to just watch the game for yourselves and not be told what to think. Fine.

So form a group hating on Sportscenter. It's not Favre's fault that there's a voracious 24-hour news glut which fawns and drools all over whatever's "hot" and whoever's "now." Hate the broadcasters who don't tell you who the left guard or fullback is because they're too busy gushing about how wonderful the star running back is. Don't hate Brett Favre.

...and I don't care if you're a Bears fan. I'm a Packer fan, and I can still say that my two favorite running backs of all time are Barry Sanders and Gale Sayers.

I don't know... Just... don't let the media tell you what to do. If you hate Brett Favre just because of what they're doing, then they've won, and the purpose of this group (if you're being honest about what you're saying it's purpose is) is defeated. So... I don't despise you as much now, but I'd say this group needs to think things through a little more or just disband for your own good. Trust me on this.

And btw, it's not Favre's fault that we all WATCH Sportscenter either. The 24-hour a day, 365 days a year news coverage only survives because we want it to and we feed it by paying attention to it. If you're sick of Brett Favre, is it not possible that maybe that's a reflection of the fact that you pay more attention to this stuff than is healthy? Don't hate. But, if you're going to hate, then start by hating yourself.

You're Denny Green, happy to be pissin' and moanin' at the top of your throaty, scratchy little girl voices. So, I propose a new name for this group. I think you should call yourselves:

The I'M FORTY!! I'M A MAN!! group

or...

The They ARE...who we THOUGHT they were!! group

haha Denny Green. Keep in mind that I'm also trying to change this group to be about everything in sports that people dislike, instead of it just being Brett Favre. I don't want the group to be about Brett Favre all the time. Frankly, I'm sick of talking about it. Now I'm tryin to take the group into a different direction, that is to debate over sportscasters. coaches, teams, players, etc that we dislike. Not just Favre. Thanks for your input.
