Guessing at the NY Jets Draft

I like some of the things the Jets are doing as a long time fan.  I like the signing of Calvin Pace for two reasons. The first being that both Vernon Gholston and Chris Long may not be available at #6. The second reason is this.  Darren McFadden is not as good as a #6 pick should be. He might be more Reggie Bush than Adrian Peterson, and may only be good in space, or with good zone blocking, which means alot of pitches and off tackle plays, and no running between the tackles in a season that will have at least 4 tough defensive games within the AFC east.  That being said, what I think will happen is that the team will trade down for multiple picks, hopefully to the Cowboys, but maybe for a late 1st, and 2nd or 3rd round pick.  Hopefully, they can get a trade with the Cowboys done on or near draft day.  This will allow them to pick up maybe a WR (Limas Sweed, James Hardy), and a playmaking CB to compete to go alongside Darelle Revis (Jenkins or Cromartie maybe) in the later part of round 1.  I also see another tackle as insurance to Woody like a Gosder Cherilus in the 2nd round since o-lineman rotate in and out, and its always good to have a competetive could be starter, than a non competetive backup sitting on a bench.  In the 3rd round a large DE/DT would make sense to rotate in with Ellis and Coleman, maybe Hamptons Kendall Langford, or Miami's Calais Campbell who's slipped a bit (If they are able to reaquire a 3rd rounder).  After the sensible need aquisitions, I think the best player available approach will take place, with some order of LB's, underrated playmaker at WR/RB/ or special teams players.  This is the way I see the draft shaping up, and at the end of that juncture, all the weakness from 2007, will be strengths going into 2008.  The only question now will be how to fit all these players on one team.

I say if McFadden is on the board, they need to trade the pick. D-Mac would be nice but multiple picks would be better. A chance at a first round WR and possibly a CB (but I think a RB like Felix Jones would be a better pick) would benefit the team.
