With the college/high school season in full swing, GM's around the league will be scanning rosters for this summers upcoming draft. The Tigers will most likely be looking for power piching like they usually do. Detroit has been able to get some great prospects with thier lower drafts simply because they can afford them. Players like Verlander, Miller, and Porcello were passed over because team didn't feel they could sign them. Pitchers aside, here are three other players I would like to see in the Tigers system to address their needs:

PETEY PARAMORE-C:Paramore is a 6'2" 215 lbs. catcher from Arizona State U. He's a switch hitter who bats better from the right side. I picked a catcher first simply because the Tigers have very few prospects in the system when it comes to catching. They like Skelton, but are unsure of his size and ability to hit at the Major League level. Apparanely defensively, Paramore is ready to catch in the big leagues now. He's described as 'a big sturdy catcher built for durability'. Has a good quick realease that makes up for an arm that's not super strong. Has the potential to quickly move up through the Tigers system. Pudge can't play forever, and he'd be a likely candidate to replace him.

AARON HICKS-OF:Aaron is currently still in high school, playing for Woodrow Wilson HS in California. He's a switch hitter, with raw power potential. At 6'2" 170 lbs., he has a good arm from the outfield and top notch speed. The Tigers are lacking speed on the base path, and he would be a good replacement for prospect Gorkys Hernandez and Cameron Maybin who were both dealt in the off-season. Granderson will be patrolling Comerica from center field for years to come, but Hicks would look good at left in the future.

IKE DAVIS-1B/OF:At 6'4" 205 lbs. Davis has a good athletic body that can give the Tigers solid left handed power. Able to play corner infield and outfield effectively. Being a former pitcher in high school, has a great arm that he'd need trying to throw runners out at Comerica. Guillen will be solid at first for awhile, and Larish is the top 1B prospect, but has yet to take that next step. Davis could fill in right field in the future, too, as Ordonez will likely move to the DH position. Ike is also a junior at Arizona State.

I wouldn't mind seeing any of these guys in a Whitecaps or Tigers uniform in the future. With all of the off-season moves, Detroit needs to re-build it's farm system. Here's the link to the MiLB.com story:
