Well, right now, you are undoubtedly smarter than you were before you started seeing our tips. Today's tip is a key factor in picking upsets, and it even got me my greatest upset pick ever.
Tip #3: If You Think a Low Seed is Good, but the Other Team Just Won't Lose, Pick the Upset. Now, this is a long one, but bear with me here. Let me explain. Say, oh, I don't know, Cornell is a good mid-major, and you really want to pick them to make a Cinderella run, but they're playing, say, Arizona, who you think is a good team and experienced and from a good conference, so they're just too good to be upset, so you'll pick them, right? WRONG! This is a perfect formula for an upset! These Cinderellas are very talented, and they are probably hot. They could beat anybody, no 4 or 5 seed will stand in their way. Take 11 VCU over 6 Duke or, my greatest upset pick ever, 13 Vermont over 4 Syracuse in '05. These were very talneted low seeds, but come on, Syracuse or Duke isn't gonna lose a first round game, ha ha. Well, they did lose, and Vermont won me the championship, and VCU cost me one. Now, I'm not saying if you like the 15 seed, pick them to beat a Title contending powerhouse 2 seed, but for the mid range teams, this could very well happen. And you'll look like a genius when your right.
Well, there's todays tip. Your one step closer to winning your office pool.
