So another poor season, another wave of Shanahan bashing. I'm sure these are the same people that praised him when he delivered two Super Bowl trophies.

Ahhh my first blog here at Fan Nation. I finally found an outlet for my football addiction.

First off, let me start by saying that the Broncos are obviously two years into the rebuilding process, and I must say, i'm very excited. The emergence of the next quarterback/reciever combo in Cutler and Marshall is something to get very excited about, and something we really haven't seen since the Elway days. As usual, our running backs shine and I'll bet money on Henry having an explosive season this year. Our team just keeps getting younger which means success will come sooner than later.

This free agency has me just as excited as I was when we got Champ Bailey. You can say all you want that we didn't go out and get any impact players, but I think we learned our lesson after two years of busts. We are filling needs, and we're filling them with the right people. Boss Bailey will be an excellent compliment to D.J. Marlon Mcree is going to be great for our defense, and having Manuel on the depth chart will allow us to throw out different packages in certain situations (considering Manuel is better at run defense).

I was surprised to see there was some bashing when it comes to Mcree. The Chargers had one of the best pass defenses in the league last year, and Mcree has started for years. So why is he a poor aquisition? That's called ignorance people.

Bottom line is: great things come in small packages. Who would have thought that Rod Smith or Terrell Davis would become two of the most important players in Broncos history? It's not about the big names, the big money, or following the leader. It's about making smart choices with an eye on the future, without breaking your pocketbook. This is what we have done this season and that's why the Broncos WILL make the playoffs, and Jay Cutler will be attending his first pro bowl.

Welcome to fannation, always good to have more Broncos fans here. I agree with your blog 100%. This will be a great season, and by the end of the year the Shanahan trash talk will be history.
