Here is the release by NASCAR officials on the domestic abuse arrest of Sprint Cup driver Travis Kvapil, lets analyze it sentence by sentence :

"NASCAR does not condone the actions with which Travis Kvapil has been charged and we are disappointed to learn of this incident,"

Very standard statement for this types of things. Obviously nobody condones hitting another person, specially a woman, we all can agree on that.

The next few quotes I just don't understand:

"We have been in close communication with the race team and are in the process of gathering as  much information as possible,"

"NASCAR takes this matter very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation as it moves forward."

If a man physically abuses a women they should be held responsible instantly. This kind of crime is very simple to sort out, there is usually immediate bruising or cuts, and since it doesn't appear to be a denial by Mr. Kvpil I don't understand what other information NASCAR is waiting for.

He was charged! What will they know later that they don't know now?

Kvapil was charged with assault and false imprisonment, which usually means he force her into a situation she did not want to be in.

Well I'll be darn! Here is the story from court records that has Kvapil pulling his wife by the hair into a bedroom at their home, then hit her in the head when she resisted.

Well then, isn't that enough for NASCAR to suspend Mr. Kvapil, what in Gods name do they need to know, isn't that enough.

Fans put up with a whole mess of NASCAR's inconsistencies, this one is just a bit too much.

This is not a game folks, this is a serious crime. If there ever was a ZERO TOLERANCE list in NASCAR this should be number one .

Can we all agree on that.

Maybe they should look at the stands this weekend and see how many females fans bring their kids and families to watch the sport.

Maybe, just maybe they will get NASCAR to do the right thing. NOW RATHER THAN LATER.

As always this is a fans opinion and from what I understand everybody has one and I thank God for that.

Not enough said.

Nascar has failed the fans and drivers with their ridiculous mountain of inconsistencies.

Kvapil should be suspended until this gets resolved, one way or the other.....this should be taken as seriously as a drug offence.

As a longtime fan, I have never been so DISGUSTED with Nascar as I have, starting with the Richmond Race fiasco.....and there have been a few incidents after that race.

Nascar is run by an incompetent rich boy (Brian France) who does not have a clue about anything......so Nascar will do nothing about this Kvapil situation......but then again Brian gave the maid a $780,000 condo in his recent divorce settlement.......guess he needs her to be quiet about things that happened in his own condo........and the divorce documents were sealed........makes me wonder if there is domestic violence in his background.

So they can fine and put Piquet on probation for a comment that was really a joke..on Instagram which maybe 500 people would have seen his post..but Kvapil gets to keep racing?? gimme a damn break.

This kind of crime is very simple to sort out

If only that were true.

Why stop with this alleged crime. Why not suspend the rule of law and presumed innocence for all accused.

I think I'd rather wait until all the facts are presented and then hang him if he's guilty.

It's not like this will be the first time there might be more to the story than the first reports.

UBP.......you are correct in what you said........but it is really hard not to have an opinion.....and yes, judgement is included in opinions.

I wasn't discussing Hernandez, I was discussing your rant against NASCAR.

Hernandez situation is a bit different, Kinda hard to play from a jail cell.

In this day and age.. its not innocent until proven guilty.. its guilty until proven innocent.. like UBP wrote 'I'd rather wait until all the facts are presented and then hang him if he's guilty'

Another thing about your misguided comparison As If, the Pats didn't cut Hernandez because of some moral outrage over his conduct. They knew who he was.

They cut him to save a few million bucks, period.

I hate hearin about spousal abuse things. Hard to tell who is tellin the truth and who should be charged. Once knew a guy who got charged, and while waitin to get it all sorted out he lost his job.Turns out the wife was lyin, she admitted it, but it was too late. This guy had been replaced at his work, so he was out of luck. So I always don't believe whose guilty, until it is all sorted out.
Shame that it is that way. If Kvapil is guilty, I hope he gets help and makes it right.

I understand that does happen...you make good points but is a hard sell given all that is was on the police report and usually they don't charge people if they don't have evidence plus remember he never denied it.
