We deserved this. The first game was bad. Just quoted on ESPN: “Possibly the worse game in the history of the game on the 34 point effort (using the team loosely)”. Only bad games this year involve Big Blue. Those games this year are VACATED from my blog.

Yea, the Michigan State / Ohio State was pretty good. Thad was, big surprise, animated. Drew hit a lot of 3’s. Shocking. Peggy in between sessions almost gets in a fight defending her husband at the OTB . Real big shock there on this trip.

After watching the first games we deserved some good games the second session.

For the second sessions, if you have Comcast, here is the blog: Another boring day in Indianapolis. Purdue and Illinois game so indecisive they had to take extra time to solve it. The second game no one can hit a free throw in the last 10 seconds. Very predictable last part of the game. Be glad you missed it. Comcast is smart not to show this stuff.

For those of you there or who have Big 10 networks don’t tell them the truth You know when a 10 seed beats a 2 seed in OT and it’s the boring game you know you got your $55 worth. The game of the team I love that came back from being down 10 to win in overtime was not the game I am thinking of.

Speaking of not thinking of it, the old guy in his black underwear and socks hitting three’s all over the place at halftime of the second game was disturbing. I kid you not on what the show was. It may be a new low in halftime history.

But I would watch 100 old guys in underwear shooting baskets to see that game. I would do more. A LOT MORE. It’s probably good you don’t know how much I would do for a lot less.  But I digress

I have a new favorite player. #2 for Indiana. (D’Andrew Thomas). Tony claims he did not mean to be funny when he said “Here comes the biggest number #2 you have ever seen” when he came in. Tony is too calculating to not know how funny that would be. He was the 300 pound spark plug. He was scrappy. He made an amazing steal. He brought a team down double digits back. And then, the Big 10 reminded us they get refs and half time shows from the same place. They called the 5th foul on a bad call and him and the momentum was flushed down the toilet for Indiana. I am not that clever. I was going for the poo-poo joke.

But any energy lost in this great game was returned with 10 seconds left. Let’s recap:

-Minnesota up 2.

-Gordon drives to the basket, fouled and the basket almost goes in

-Gordon shoots 2 to tie.

-Gordon misses the first shot

-Gordon almost makes the next shot

-DJ rebounds -DJ tips it in

-DJ is fouled

-DJ missed the free throw

 -DJ is fouled again

-DJ missed foul shot again

-DJ makes second shot 1.7 seconds left.

We mention Christian Laetner. We mention Nick Anderson in ’89. There is no way.

Add Hoffarber to the forever highlight real Does anyone know if Hoffarber left handed? He shot that last shot left handed.

That all happened in 10 seconds. It took me 10 minutes to type what happened. My heart did not beat the whole time.

Another boring day in the tournament. But if you want to come there are plenty of good seats available now.
