                             Notes From Picks

      1. Texas Tech will be a surprise team in the Big 12. I predict that they will beat Texas and end the season with at least 10 wins.

     2. Texas will have a down year. They will still make a bowl game, but they will be no where near where they were just a couple of years ago.

     3. Texas A&M will also struggle. I predict the Aggies to win four games or less.

     4. Michigan will not have a great year with Rich Rodriguez this year, but will finish the season at either 7-5 or 8-4.

     5. Illinois will be a completely different team this year. Expect them to barely become bowl-eligible with either a 6-6 or 7-5 record.

Michigan might win 7, but I doubt it.

New coach - New System - Players recruited for a completely different offensive scheme - Scramling to develop a QB
You got TSUN ranked high - I have them 6th.

Loosing a key player to the NFL early, they still have a lot of talent on the bench
You got Illinois rated low - I have them at 4

Still, you did a great blog kid - Kudos

They filled their gap at RB with JC recruits. They finished 6th last year.
I have Iowa edging out Michigan for 5th and 6th.

Picking the bottom 3 is easy. As to their order, your guess is as good as mine.

I have Mich State over Purdue at 7th and 8th, though this could be tight.

I completely disagree. Texas Tech's lack of running game will not allow them to be a surprise team. This is the Big 12, not the WAC, which Hawaii dominated on the same offense. Defense is key in this conference. Also, Kansas State is a surprise once they start playing, so I think they should be in third in the Big 12 North. It'll come down to who wins the Oklahoma-Texas game once again. I do like your Big Ten predictions, definitely with Michigan and Ohio State, but I think that Wisconsin and Penn State should be switched. Relatively good rankings overall.

Yeah, I'd probably have to agree with orangeandwhite1. I just can't see Tech getting to 10 wins and beating Texas. Their lack of defense and a running game wil doom them, especially considering Mack Brown figured out their offensive scheme, proven by the fact that Texas hasn't lost to Tech in 4 years. I also would pick Texas to beat Oklahoma, win the Big 12, and go to a BCS game. Yeah, I guess I'm biased since I'm a fan, but, considering Texas achieved 10 wins last year without three injured starters from their O-line, and a pass defense that ranked something like 104th, I'd say with the defense improving with the new D-coridinator from Auburn, a consistent O-line, and a good group of wideouts for McCoy to throw to, Texas could very well be back in the hunt for a national championship.

Their is no chance that Tech will make it to second in the big 12. tech has never had a very solid D and despite a great offense most years always seems to under achieve. Speaking as an A&M fan this always seems to happen directly after they beat us. However I also disagree with your pick of A&M as second to last in the Big 12 south. While we have a new staff we still have the majority of our offense, our strong rushing game will be back, and hopefully judging by shermans past we might have a passing game this year. we have a defense that while it wasn't great last year showed potential on many occasions. I expect us to at least make fourth in the big 12 south and become bowl eligible with 8 to 9 win season. I also expect us to beat texas for the third straight year.

tech is overated all they really had last year was there qb and crabtree. yes crabtree is good but lik orange said this is the big12 you cant just rely on ur passing game to get you wins

I'd love to see your predictions come true, especially when it comes to the Buffs. I liked that you prefaced your predictions with not looking at the schedule. Fortunately, Colorado is young, but unfortunately they play one of the toughest schedules in the nation this year. We'll see though...GO BUFFS!

No love for Mizzou huh guys? Mizzou will win the Big12 North easily and give whoever wins the South another run for there money if not win. Colorado will not be that great either. Too young.

No love for Mizzou huh guys? Mizzou will win the Big 12 North again easily probably and will give whoever wins the South a good run for their money this year. Also Colorado will not be that great as they are too young and lack the expierence that some of the other teams have.

umm Colorado???lol! serious??

do you even give this a second thought? Mizzou beat the biffs by 45 last year and now they have to come to columbia to play a better team, please!
