Here's a thought for all of you Shanahater's out there.

We lost offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak to the Texans after our AFC Championship loss in 2005.  During the time Kubiak was coordinator, our offense flourished, and as soon as he was gone, it dissipated.  The real problem with our offense is not Shanahan, but the loss of Kubiak.  Yes, Shanahan is a great coach responsible for not only the 49er's success but the Broncos success as well.  However, it does take a well rounded coaching staff to call the plays that need to be made in order to win games.

Time will tell if we can find the right pieces to the puzzle on the sideline to make this team flourish, but don't forget about the great talent we lost in Kubiak.  Kubiak is well deserving of his coaching job in Texas and I have no doubt the Texans will be a playoff contender within the next five years.

Wow what non-sense...how many assistant coaches have the Patriots lost in the past 6 years or the Steelers? Yet both of those teams barely skipped a beat. Let's take a look at Jeff Fisher and let's not forget the HUGE turnover of the Chargers coaching staff. Yet these teams made the playoffs. I like Shanny-lad but Bowlen needs to reign in his demi-god.

The problem with Denvers offense is it's outdated. Where we were unpredictable we have become quite predictable. We have stayed with the light, quict, athletic offensive line. But defenses have had 10 years to decifer the zone blocking scheme. We used to kill with speed now we are getting killed with both speed and size by defenses. Look at the past few years and our red-zone offense (especially last year) we failed. Elam was our MVP and now they are haggling with him and a new contract. I think what we need is to add some beef to the line, give our Cutler more time and sustain drives in the red-zone by blowing defenses off the line. We no longer have the creative Elway or Plummer...what we do have is a potentially great QB in a more traditional system.

great analysis Mongo 7, you hit it right on target! Shanahan is the main problem here in Denver, but Pat Bowlen is too caught up with his "Man Crush" on Shanny to fire him!
