It's March Madness time. Yay. Woo fricken' who. I get that it's a big deal to a lot of people, but seriously HYPE needs to die. I don't even like Hype for sporting events that matter to me, like the Super Bowl. How many experts do we have to have dissect the same 64 team bracket in a 4 hour span on radio? I mean gorramit people... we'll find out who wins or loses soon enough! What the flipping hell!
All of this prognostication and hot air babble is giving me a goddamned headache. It's a tool for the sole purpose of gambling, and I get that, but the whole POINT of Gambling is that you -don't- know the outcome. Stop trying so hard to guess! I've entered myself into the bracket pool, and set up my picks without spending a SECOND on figuring out who will do what, basing my picks on what I happen to pick up along the way.
I'm fully expecting to do as well as the bozo's that get paid 6 figures to sit in their expensive suits on E*PN and babble for hours on end about why this team will beat that one. Maybe luck is against me, who knows... I'm only doing it to satisfy my OWN desire to know that these morons are really wasting their time. And through that, they're wasting MY time, because the sports radio and other things that I use to get me through the day babble for hours about something I don't give a **** about.
Thanks a lot America, for showing exactly how shallow and meaningless you really are!

Good blog, you're guesses are probably just as good as any so called "expert". When it comes right down to it, even they are just guessing.

Report Offensive CommentI agree. I could give a flying **** about the NCAA tournament.

Report Offensive CommentThe irony here is that this grew out of an hour of Mike and Mike this AM while getting ready for work. They listed off the number of 'Bracket Guests' they were gonna have... and the saddest part is... there's -3- more days after this for them to do this! And then all the same analysts will be on NEXT week trying to explain why they were right or wrong, and doing it all over again.
Truly maddening. It is, unfortunately, market driven however, and such is life in a world of soundbytes.

Report Offensive CommentI like the tournament, I will watch as much of it as I can but the hype kills me. I have avoided it all day. I want to fill out my brackets in piece and not have to read about all the potential upsets, favorable matchups and all the other garbage.

Report Offensive CommentIt's nice to know that someone that does care about the tourney is as tired of the hype as I am. It could be taken to mean that it's NOT just my dislike of basketball at work here.
