Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving eating tons of good food with family and friends and watching some interesting and entertaining football yesterday. The Detroit Lions bullied the Green Bay Packers 40-10. They made Matt Flynn look absolutely awful. The Packers performance was embarrassing! Flat out awful. Packers guard Josh Sitton took some shots at the Lions earlier this week. They got the last laugh. The Lions are in full control of the NFC North. The Packers have an outside shot with Aaron Rodgers coming back hopefully next week, but they seem to have a few more problems than just him...The Dallas Cowboys came back from a 21-7 deficit to beat the Oakland Raiders 31-24 and the comeback was led by running back DeMarco Murray who had three rushing touchdowns! Can you believe that?! The Cowboys actually ran the ball!! Finally, in the nightcap, the Baltimore Ravens hung on to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 22-20 in one of the craziest ends to a game you'll ever see. Twice the Steelers looked like they had a touchdown only for them to be called back to the half-yard line. The Steelers finally scored, but the two-point conversion was incomplete. The Steelers are the walking wounded, losing several offensive lineman and running back LaVeon Bell to a concussion. Ouch! A 3-0 day though for picks. Now, let's get right to the other predicions and preview of week 13 in the NFL for today, Black Friday, November 29:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers 1:00 PM ET FOX
Definitely one of the more intriguing games of the day. The Bucs come in having won three games in a row, but the Panthers are obviously hotter with a seven game winning streak. Tampa Bay is playing really good football right now though and Carolina has had to win games late. That may again be the case Sunday, but the Panthers have the confidence knowing that they can win games late and Cam Newton and company will do it again if they have to.
Prediction: Panthers 27 Bucs 20
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM ET CBS
The Jaguars are looking for their third consecutive road win. They've played much better since their bye. The Browns have looked like, well, the Browns from recent years the past few weeks. Brandon Weeden starting at quarterback gives me cause for concern, but I think Josh Gordon will have another big day and the Browns find a way to win.
Prediction: Browns 24 Jaguars 13
New England Patriots @ Houston Texans 1:00 PM ET CBS
This looked like a great game when the NFL schedule was released in April. With the Texans on a nine game losing streak though, it is merely another game for Tom Brady and the Patriots offense to continue to get in synch. I predict a tenth straight loss is in Houston's future.
Prediction: Patriots 34 Texans 16
Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts 1:00 PM ET CBS
The AFC South title is up for grabs in this one. If the Colts win, they put a stranglehold and virtual lock on the division. If the Titans win, they will be just one game back. The Colts have been dreadful in the first halves of games the last four weeks. They've heard it all week. I think they do something about that Sunday.
Prediction: Colts 27 Titans 17
Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings 1:00 PM ET FOX
This game shouldn't be a toss up, but it is. The Bears run defense is terrible (see last week against St. Louis). Aren't they lucky that they get to go against the best running back in football in Adrian Peterson? If the Vikings were smart, they would run Peterson and Toby Gerhardt on every play they can. Somehow, someway though, I think the Bears find a way to win though a Vikings win wouldn't shock me.
Prediction: Bears 27 Vikings 23
Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets 1:00 PM ET CBS
The flip-floping Jets didn't win last week, ending their alternating win-loss streak they've been on all year. The Dolphins are a better team than the Jets regardless of the whole Incognito case and they find a way to remain in the playoff chase in the AFC and send the Jets hopes flying away.
Prediction: Dolphins 20 Jets 13
Arizona Cardinals @ Philadelphia Eagles 1:00 PM ET FOX
Another very intriguing game. The Cardinals are a very good team, but flying cross-country for an early kickoff game is difficult for west coast teams. They were able to do it against Tampa Bay and Jacksonville earlier this year, but those teams aren't very good. Philly's offense is really good. The Cardinals can prove a lot of people wrong by winning this game. I don't think they can.
Prediction: Eagles 31 Cardinals 17
Atlanta Falcons @ Buffalo Bills 4:05 PM ET FOX (Toronto)
Canadians must hate America for sending them crap games involving the Bills. Sweet, the 2-9 Falcons come to town. This is a toss up, but it's because both teams are bad. The Bills will run the ball though and come away with a victory, because the Falcons defense can't stop them.
Prediction: Bills 23 Falcons 17
St. Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49ers 4:05 PM ET FOX
The 49ers are getting healthy at just the right time. More offensive weapons are coming for Colin Kaepernick. Doesn't look great that Rams running back Zac Stacy will go in this one and that hurts the Rams offense. 49ers roll.
Prediction: 49ers 31 Rams 9
Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs 4:25 PM ET CBS
Forecast in KC on Sunday calls for a high near 50 degrees. That will be warm enough for Peyton Manning and the Broncos offense to get going again in the passing game. The Chiefs defense will be missing Justin Houston, but Tamba Hali should play. That will help, but they need to figure out a way to put pressure on Manning. I don't see that happening without one of their best pass rushers. Close game, but I like the road team.
Prediction: Broncos 23 Chiefs 20
Cincinnati Bengals @ San Diego Chargers 4:25 PM ET CBS
The road win last week in KC should have the Chargers filled with confidence. The Bengals are coming off of a bye week and have had two weeks to prepare, but this will be a very difficult task going against the Chargers. A win would say a lot about the Bengals, but I don't think they'll get it.
Prediction: Chargers 27 Bengals 24
New York Giants @ Washington Redskins 8:30 PM ET NBC
Why NBC elected to keep this game, I have no idea. Only reason could be RGIII and the two media markets. Regardless, both of these teams are out of playoff contention. Did you see the Redskins play the 49ers Monday night? Why would I pick them to beat the Giants?
Prediction: Giants 27 Redskins 20
