Thanks for ripping me off of a well deserved win over DJ!
That dropped me to 6-6 and raised DJ to 6-6.
Ok, it wasn't actually Yahoo's fault, as there's even a little disclaimer that results don't become final until Wednesday's, as that's when the NFL updates any necessary stat corrections.
Luckily for me, at least three of my closest competitors also choked this weekend.
With most of the matchups decided, I'm going to post the standings updated to reflect this weekend's results.
- Cam's Newton 10-3 (1343.10*)
- Like I Care 8-5 (1308.9*)
- Will Starch You 7-6 (1375.5)
- A Real Piece of Work 7-6 (1357.86)
- MF's New Mexicans 7-6 (1307.62)
- The Low Metabolisms 7-6 (1274)
- California Dreamin' 7-6 (1165.7)
- Rams Never Happened 5-8 (1224.82)
- Welfare Bears 4-9 (1054.1)
- Texas Desperados 3-10 (1093.78*)

First things first, I'll admit I was dead wrong about Cam's Newton dropping the last two to miss the playoffs. This week's domination (137.6 with Brees and Graham still to play) ensures a #1 seed for the playoffs.
Now, we are down to 6 teams for the remaining three playoff spots.
DJ, bolstered by his stat corrected victory in week 12, pulled another upset this week over YF's Will Starch You to improve to 7-6 and stay in the hunt. To make the playoffs, DJ not only needs to beat BM, he needs at least three of the other four playoffs contender to lose, as his point total (over 100 points behind #6 Random Guy) is near impossible to overcome for a tie breaker.
The Low Metabolisms also needs a win and a bit of help, as they'll trail the next three teams by 30-100 points. DJ and Random Guy will be rooting hard for Cam's Newton, Rams Never Happened and Texas Desperados this weekend.
The next four have a real inside track for the remaining three playoff spots.
BM's Like I Care has all but assured a playoff berth, but a loss to DJ and high scoring wins from YF, MF, and Myself could bounce him from the playoffs.
Yankees Fan (playing UBP next week) can secure a playoff berth with a win. As the league's highest scoring, YF will certainly win any potential tie breaker.
A Real Piece of Work could round out the playoff field with a win, but facing Cam's Newton (who will likely exceed 160 points tonight) in a must win situation is pretty daunting.
MF's New Mexicans, despite getting drubbed this weekend by at least 50 points, will be the likely #4 seed with a win over Nerb.
My projected final standings:
- Cam's Newton 11-3
- Like I Care 9-5
- Will Starch You 8-6
- MF's New Mexicans 8-6
- The Low Metabolisms 8-6
- A Real Piece of Work 7-7
- California Dreamin 7-7
- Rams Never Happened 5-9
- Welfare Bears 4-10
- Texas Desperados 3-11
If not for last week's stat correction that awarded San Francisco's defense an extra two points, I'd be sitting rather comfortably at 8-5 this week, with a sizeable point lead over the other playoff hopefuls. Instead, I see myself missing the playoffs entirely.
Oh well, such is fantasy football!
