01:19 AM ET 05.26 | The NBA Dress code has been in effect for about two years now, and when it first came out i was indifferent about it. But now i think it is totally pointless. First off, what has it prevented. Sebastian Telfair has had two hadngun incidents, and the whole escapade with his jewelry. Stephen Jackson shot off his gun iin the parking lot. The dress code is supposed to move away from the "thug" characters, but does anyone remember the incident at the garden this year? The one with Nate Robinson and Carmelo? And Carmelo's stop snitching campaign? Its not what the person wears. Some people are just made to act out. Why should everyone be punished for some people? It takes away freedom of expression. Maybe they can have a dress code when doing interviews and appearances, but when players are traveling or coming into the arena nobodies wants to be in a suit.
