Hey everyone! Welcome to week 1 of the FanNation Sportcenter! This is your host Da Masta speaking. Today the topics we shall discuss are MLB, NBA, and NCAA. We will also have a star guest appearance with LeBron James! Let's start this week's session.....
Da Masta- First off, let's talk March Madness. I'm here with FN bracker analysist, Cheezhead. So, Cheezhead, what did ya think about day 1 of the NCAA tourney yesterday?
Cheezhead- Well, I thought it was a pretty good day for day 1. The most major upset was only Kansas State over USC but all of the other games were pretty good. Duke nearly lost which was also pretty surprising....
Da Masta- Those are some nice thoughts Dudeman. Do you think that USC's early exit from the tourney will hurt O.J. Mayo's draft position?
Cheezhead- Probably not, Mayo is just such a good player that he is likely to be a top 10 selection still.
Da Masta- Ok, now.... who do you think will be this year's cinderella team?
Cheezhead- Well, right now I'm going with West Virginia. They have so much talent and are highly underrated as a 7 seed. I can see them knocking off Duke and Xavier and making the Elite 8 this season. What about you Masta?
Da Masta- I've got Clemson going pretty far. They won't really be a cinderella team as they are a 5 seed but UNC better watch out, Clemson is really good. They beat Duke and nearly beat UNC 3 times already. They will be looking for revenge! Alright, let's conclude our NCAA section of the show with this: Who do you think will be a high seed to go down early?
Cheezhead- Hmm.... for that question I'm gonna answer Xavier. They have to play a tough Purdue team in round 2 and Xavier can be beaten. Every team in the NCAA has proven that they can be beaten.
Da Masta- Allright, thanks for joining me Cheezhead and we'll see you next week!
Da Masta- We are now being joined by LeBron James for our basketball section of sportcenter today! Welcome LeBron!
James- Hey Da Masta.
Da Masta- So LeBron, how do you feel about all of the talks about you going to someone like the Knicks?
James- Well.... I like Cleveland but, I have always been a Yankees fan so it might not be to bad. I might also get to help re-build them like I did with the Cavs. And they might have a decent PG by then....
Da Masta- Alright, now, what do you think about the Rockets 22 game winning streak?
James- Well any winning streak is a good one but 22 games? That's amazing! I think that it is like the second longest streak in NBA history!
Da Masta-You are right about that Mr. James!
James- Just call me LeBron dude....
Da Masta- Ok, sorry about that. Now, what do you think about the Cavs playoff hopes this year?
James- Well, we are definetely in the playoffs but still... We have to get past the Pistons and the Celtics who are both great teams. Still, we beat the Pistons last year and have beaten the Celts this year so we are looking to repeat as Eastern Conference Champs!
Da Masta- Alright, that's all the time we have for our NBA session. Thank you for coming and good bye LeBron!
Da Masta- Well we don't have a guest for this part of the show but I know enough about baseball to tell you all you need to know!
As baseball is near it's starting point. Many teams are geared up and excitedly waiting for opening day. Everywhere from fantasy to real life, tensions are running high wating for Opening Day.
In the offseason this year, the Mets were able to acquire Johan Santana in a deal that should put them atop of the National League again. Also, the Tigers recieved Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera.
Among the high powered free-agents, A-Rod was signed by the Yankees for over 30 million dollars a year! Surprisingly, Barry Bonds has not been signed by anyone.
Some of the best prospects this year would be the Cubs Kosuke Fukodome and the Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury. They are both prospects with lots of potential.
Well, that's all the time that we have today folks. I hope you enjoyed this week's issue of the FanNation Sportcenter!
