There are three athletes right now that I am just tired of hearing about. I'll get a lot of angry responses about the first, the second won't be a popular topic, either, and the third will be questioned if their even an athlete. Lets not screw around and get to it.
#3 -- Michelle Wie
Okay, she plays golf, which right there disqualifies her for being regarder as an athlete, but she's always being talked about when she tries to play against the men. First and foremost, she can't even beat Sorenstam!! When she can topple the most decorated women's golfer in the world, then maybe I'll consider her to play with the men. An amatuer title? Win some amatuer male titles first and let her work her way up through the ranks -- it's not right she gets a free pass.
#2 -- Tom Brady
Ya, ya. He's won some super bowls. But it's Belichek that should get all the credit. Brady's arm is questionable, not much into the deep field. He's accurate, but he's had the benefit of playing behind a monster-good line. Not to mention that Bill has provided him with solid running backs every year. And let's not forget that defense wins championships? In almost all of his super bowl wins, Vinateri has won it for them, which means the defense has kept the game close enough for Brady to drive down to at least the thirty, so Adam could put it through. When Tom starts rattling off come-from-behind drives for the go-ahead touchdown, then I'll start believing he's worth all the hype.
#1 -- Kobe Bryant
When he's the ONLY guy on the entire team that can make a shot, no doubt he'll be scoring over fifty a night. The man rarely passes the ball, and when he does, it's so he can set himself up for another shot. If he's so good, wouldn't he be in the race for the championship right now? Without Shaq, he has done nothing in the season except choke in the first round where the other pretenders get bounced out. Face it Laker Fans, Kobe was Scottie, Shaq was Jordan. Without the big guy, Bryant won't find himself hoisting another trophy. Oh, and his defense is laughable, don't believe me? When was the last time he was defender of the year?
