Wonderlicious

The results of the Wonderlic test from the NFL scouting combine are out, and Chad Henne got a....22! Now, they say a person of average intelligence should score a 20 on the Wonderlic. So my question is, how can someone who's been in college for 4 years get a 22? If you've taken the Wonderlic then you know it's a hell of a lot easier than the SAT's. And we can assume that Henne took, and got a decent score on, the SAT's...right? Because a famed academic institution like Michigan wouldn't accept a student with subpar SAT's right? That wouldn't be fair to the rest of the applicants right? I guess that 22 was just a fluke. Anyway, Henne is currently projected as a 2nd round pick. In previous years if I'd heard someone say that I would assume they were on drugs. However I think that it's sadly accurate this year. The talent pool of NFL QB's is remarkably shallow at the moment. I think we'll see a lot of questionable QB's (see: Henne, Chad) not only get drafted, but get drafted in the earlier rounds this year. For all the records and accolades he's gotten at Michigan, Chad Henne has never won that many big games. He may hold all the Michigan passing records, but put him in the big game and he's gonna choke. I wonder what team is going to be the one to find that out the hard way. Chuck Norris is ten feet tall, weighs two-tons, breathes fire, and could eat a hammer and take a shotgun blast standing.

You are right Henne is AWFUL in big games.

The Wonderlic is MAD easy. How people get less than 30s is beyond me, though I have never taken the whole thing. However, I have done various samples of 9-15 questions off it, and never gotten more than 1 wrong. The real weird thing is guys like Ryan Clady. A 13? My god... the creator of the test claims that a 10 is LITERACY. So at a score of 13, he made it through college being barely literate?

And how about Keith Rivers?! Despite USC's huge athletic following, it is not a knock on their academics. USC student quality is actually pretty good. So how does Keith Rivers score a 16? That puts him somewhere between "literate" and "average intelligence." So how does he make it through a school like USC? The things they do for these kids to pass them is sad... Sure, it can help them make a better lifer for themselves, but at least TRY to teach them!

Henne is a beast. You're just jealous because your quarterback tears his ACL in big games.

And there is an easy explanation as to why he got a 22. He got 22 out of the first possible 22 points, then took a nap because he didn't want people realizing just how smart he is. He just wanted to make Ryan and Brohm look bad.

Believe me, Wilson academics are not a cakewalk, even if you are an athlete. You might not always be able to tell if someone is going to be really smart when they are ten, but you can certainly tell if they are dumb. And he was not stupid.

For being so bad in the "big ones" he sure craved up gator fillets that day in Jan. He had a horrendous record in the big games but i think it was a gambit of things that all added up to this problem. We all saw a taste of what things should have been especially last season. No explaination for the score, i personally believe he isn't stupid. But then again it could be said that he may be dumb but not stupid!

Just how hard is it at Wilson High? It's a regular public high school, not a prep school. But is it possible he was given preferential treatment there too?
