I went to see the reds play the blue jays in Sarasota today. The result was a 5-3 win for the home team(ok a little bit further from home). What got me was a the hats people were wearing. There were so may people there not wearing reds stuff.I mean come on!Yankees,Red sox,Pirates,Cubs.More alternative hats than reds hats.I mean, come on!Go home.
Ok,so the reds played well from the start.Homer Bailey pitched well in 4 1/3 innings of 1 run,2 hit ball but walked several hitters before being relieved, where Jared Burton got an inning ending dounle play.
Adam Dunn hit a homer a screamer over the right field wall.and 1st baseman of the future Joey Votto, hit a towering shot over the left center wall.
In the 9th with a 5-1 lead Jeremy Affeldt gave up two runs before setting down the the last batter for the 5-3 victory. What a great day at Ed Smith Stadium.
