My day began at 7:45am Eastern Time, got up looked around in a daze and realized I was missing "Opening Day" or "Opening Morning".

I ran down stairs grabbed a bowl of Rice Krispies and turned on the game, at this point it was 2-0 A's. I had no idea what had happened and it was too early for baseball. I guess it could have been worse I could have been on the West Coast.

How can we have opening day in Japan? This is every baseball fan's Christmas and the game starts at 6:00am on the East Coast and 3:00 on the West Coast. If you got up at 6 or 3 am congratulations, but most people, including myself,  were asleep. Baseball is America's Game so again why is opening day in Japan?

It's a shame to because it was a great game for the people at work or sleeping. JD Drew was scratched from the lineup at the last second, and his replacement Brandon Moss saved the game for the Sox going 2-5 with two  RBI's and hitting a game tying homerun (first of his major league career) in the top of the 9th to bring the score to 4-4. Then in the top of the 10th Manny Ramirez hits his second two RBI double of the game scoring Lugo and Ortiz. With all this the A's still should have tied the game in the bottom of the 10th with one on and one out Emil Brown hit a shot of the wall in right that scored one, but made a stupid baserunning error overunning second base and getting tagged out.

Hopefully next year opening day will be in the United States.

At least you got to watch some of it.... most people had either work or school and didn't get to see most of or if any of the game. Im not a Red Sox fan, but i always love the opening game and was disappointed to miss it.
