Why the hatred of Miggy?

As I read Gu3's blog again and again about how he is glad Miguel Tejada is gone and how he hates him...it makes me angry. One fan hating Tejada would not bother me but reading the comments of people agreeing with him bothers me. What exactly did Tejada do for us? Okay he used steroids but so did Roberts but somehow we can forgive him for that but not Miggy. Miggy was a decent fielder but we got him for his bat. And did he produce? That answer is simply Yes! Tejada played four years for Baltimore and in his four years put 34 hrs first year then 26, 24, 18. In the RBI catogory put up 150 then 98, 100, 81. The his average 311, 304, 330, 296. Thats pretty darn good. Yes, his last year was his worst but it was shortened due to an injury. Where are we complaining about that? He didnt hit enough homeruns? is that it? He was never a great power hitter but just forced into that position because the Orioles had no power hitter.

This is why we are going to miss him this year. Nick Markakis had Tejada behind him so pitchers pitched to Nick but with Tejada gone who wants to pitch to Nick? All pitchers will pitch around Nick Markakis because there is no protection in the line-up. We have Kevin Millar he batted 254 last year with 17 homeruns. Tejada did better than that with his worst year. Well we have Aubrey Huff 280 with 15 homers is okay buuuttt still not as good as Tejada. Ramon Hernadez 258 with 9 homers! You know where I am going. Until someone steps up why pitch to Markakis. My prediction is that Nick's numbers will go down signifacantly unless someone can step up.

And to end this I have to say this.... I agree with the move to get rid of Tejada only to rebuild but I think Miggy was a good player for us and do not agree with the criticisim!

    Opening Day Monday!

Differences between Roberts and Tejada

Roberts cares about where he plays. He likes playing in Baltimore. And even if he didnt, he still wouldnt go around asking for trades like Tejada did.

Roberts played. Plain and simple. He ran to first. Tejada jogged. He didnt give a damn if he won or lost.

And Roberts cares about the fans. After almost every home game, as you have seen, he stops and signs autographs while pulling out of the lot. Does Tejada do that? No.. he pulls off as fast as he can. And dont you remember how you got B-Rob's autograph? He was at your dad's cemetary and he kindly gave you and autograph. Would Tejada have done that? Hell no, he would have told you something that you wouldnt have understood.

And with the steroid thing, B-rob admitted it. Miguel screwed his own teammate and gave him roids (Raffy)

Ok I also got Miguel's autograph at the game so that point done. Roberts running and Tejada jogging thats crap. I dont know how many games i see Roberts jogging down the line! And AND that is a rumor that Tejada gave raffy a tainted B-12 shot so i dont want to here that. If you admitted you cheated you still cheated. His apology was like Petite's apology. I used it once when i was hurt and then once that one time. I find that hard to believe........ he juiced it every week he is just trying as best he can to save himself.

I'm a huge Kyle Boller fan, so I have no right to get on your case for liking an unpopular player. What I will say is that, like Gu3 alluded to, Tejada lost my favor when he begged to get out of Baltimore. When a man has no pride in his own team, I don't want to see him on it. I hope he's happy now, though I don't really project the Astros to be World Series winners anytime too soon.
See you at the Yard (or in class tomorrow).

Good blog. I agree that Miguel Tejada did help out the Orioles. I agree it was a good move to give Miguel Tejada away to rebuild. Tejada was a good player, but to fill the role of Cal Ripken Jr., which you guys (Oriole fans) had for your team for such a long time. You guys are use to having a very good hitter at SS. With Tejada you didn't have as good of a hitter. Anyway, good blog.

Good blog.

Turns out Tejada is not really Tejada and he's at least two years older than he stated. HMMM! I wonder if the O's knew this before trading him. Great trade either way. One of the best moves the O's have made in a decade, no doubt about it.

But I did like his talent and still think he can help Houston. I just love the fact that the O's are serious about winning.
