The problem as I see it, as a backseat driver I might add, was losing Scott Arniel, That is the difference from the '05-'06 season to the '06-'07 season. The special teams were much better when he was behind the bench, I know Brian McCutcheon is a nice guy and has proved to be a good coach, but he should be be where he is of most use, his forte is readying a player for the NHL down in the farm system, and by no means is this an insult. and what perfect timing it would be as one coach who came to mind more than once this past season who could really improve the Sabres special teams situation just became unemployed. Craig "Rammer" Ramsay, as one can remember the good old Blue and Gold Glory Days, Rammer was a master at killing penalties and through the years has become an all around special teams guru. I had spoken to a close person to Rammer recently and was told how much he misses the Buffalo area, (the people, the culture and the food mostly pizza). Rammer is a perfect fit and I can say maybe that last piece of the puzzle? Optimism does not come easy when you are a Buffalo Sports Fan!

You got that right! I still can't get over the fact that we could score all those goals during the regular season, but we couldn't score with a man advantage. Two or 3 pp goals against Ottawa would've made a big difference. Plus they need a few " THUGS " on defense.
I'll have to admit, I thought Ryan Miller was going to be our "achilles heel " during the post-season,but he played outstanding.
Buffalo has a good engine for the future, they just need to fine tune it.
