WEC 33 came and went on March 26th and a few questions were definitively answered while others were only tentatively solved. Brian Stann and Doug Marshall hooked up for the light heavyweight title and we found out if Stann would be able to keep his TKO streak alive. We got decisive answers regarding Chael Sonnen and Bryan Baker, as well as with Marcus Hicks and Ed Ratcliff. Brock Larson and John Alessio, both looking for their 23rd win, was resolved in a more ambiguous fashion.

135 Time (1:35) it took Brian Stann to snatch the WEC belt away from Doug Marshall when he rocked him with a left hook. The KO victory pushed Stann's record to 6-0 and dropped Marshall to 7-3. Now in six fights Stann has six (T)KO's! After the fight he said of Marshall, "He's had this belt for a long time. He's defended it twice. I can only hope to do as well as he has in representing the WEC and representing this belt."

900 Number of seconds (900) Bryan Baker was dominated by Chael Sonnen. Baker should be commended for his effort. However, Sonnen clearly out classed him for the entire fight, so much so that two judges scored the decision 30-25, while the third saw it 30-26. With the victory Sonnen improved to 20-9-1 and Baker dropped to 6-1.
