The N.F.L. is thinking about implementing some sort of "length of hair" restriction for the upcoming years. Go to:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-nfl-hair&prov=ap&type=lgns
for an article from Yahoo Sports. I can't wait to see how quckly the NFLPA throws their guys under the bus on this surely to be hotly contested issue. C'mon Mr. Upshaw. What's next? A ban on body art? No cell phone calls after touchdowns? Names on the backs of jerseys just not getting the job done, I suppose. Where will this madness end? How else to recognize our gridiron heroes?
Lastly, what are they eatin' in Tonga and Somoa?

Report Offensive CommentNYFAN, you can have TD celebrations, just not excessive, and not team celebrations (in the endzone). Plus, no using props.

Report Offensive CommentI dont think its that big of a deal. Really they're only doing it to prevent things like Troy Palamalou getting his hair pulled and junk like that.
At my school we get detentions if our hair goes below the collar. Perhaps they just want NFL players to look presentable or whatever you would like to call it. Not that big of a deal. Its just hair.

Report Offensive CommentThat should not be happening. They look cool with the long hair. So what, if they want to have it, let them. If they want to get tackled by their hair, let them. Does it effect the NFL? No.

That is dumb. Do you go to a private school?

Report Offensive CommentSo much for Polomalu (however you spell it)!
Marc.H | 03/27/08, 04:15 PM
Report Offensive CommentThere's hair restrictions at my school (private school) as well. This should be a non-issue, as it is the players decision if they want to wear their hair long. If they do wear it long, they know its going to get pulled, so if they can't deal with that, cut it.

Report Offensive CommentThe NFL isn't the Army. If they want to get their hair ripped out let em. Why should there be a rule like this?! Oh and I agree with NYFan they are taking a lot of fun out of the league. They are starting to throw that flag on just about everything funny they do in the endzone.

Report Offensive CommentI'm looking for flames on the field and lions vs. players to the death for the losing team. Anything short of those two recommendations and I'll have to pass. "I'm bored."

Report Offensive CommentTroy Polamalu's hair is entertaining. Don't do away with it! haha, good blog.

Report Offensive CommentApparently, the hair in question has to be short enough not to cover your name on the back or, tucked inside your helmet. But I agree..., this is gotta be one of the stupidest rules if it goes through. Players should have the right to have their hair as long as they want, have their own TD celebrations with or without props (I loved TO's cell phone and Sharpie celebrations in the past). If you can't be excited over scoring a TD then, what can you be exicted about in this league... a root canal on the sidelines?
