Last week's announcement of the hiring of Sam Vincent was just the beginning. As Michael Jordan mentioned in the Vincent press conference, Bernie Bickerstaff will serve in a new role: Executive Vice President; Meaning the Bobcats are on the prowl for a new GM to replace Bickerstaff.
Marc Stein writes in his latest blog on ESPN.com that Golden State's Rod Higgins is the top and only candidate right now. Jordan has asked for, and has been granted, permission to interview Higgins, and a deal and announcement is expected shortly, according to Stein.
Higgins was an assistant GM to Jordan in Washington, and a former teammate of #23 as well.
Last week, posters on CarolinaSportsNet.com spoke about Jordan's "Cronyism": hiring people he'd worked with or played with in the past. It remains to be seen if this is a good or bad thing, given Jordan's front office track record with the Wizards.
