Just thinking about some things that I probably should know, but don't at the moment. Like, what on Earth is the point of UFC and fighting shows like that? I don't really understand them. Who wants to watch grown men beat the #$@! out of each other for fun? I don't see the amusment there, but maybe it's just me.
Or, what happened to the NHL? I used to like watching it, thought it was a good way to pass time until the football games came on, but now I don't even know what channel it's on anymore. The NHL All-Star game, for example, was broadcast on a totally no-name channel. More people watched Discovery's Mythbusters and TLC(?)'s Design on a Dime than it. Doesn't that tell you something about the state of the once-proud Canadian sport?
And how do the Mariners keep winning anyway? With three of their starters having ERA's of over 5.00 (and Jeff Weaver currently touting a 14.32 average) it's a surprise that they are actually over .500. Ichiro can only do so much, and Kenji Johjima may be batting surprisingly well, but both of them can't take all of the Mariner's at-bats. No one's quite sure, myself included. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe there's something in the Starbucks coffee up there.
Marquise Hill's death is just another sad, sad case of a promising young athlete being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He even tried to help his female companion make it to shore, which he succeeded in doing. If he had a lifejacket or a flare, well then, who knows? In the meantime, it's just sad....
Haha now I have to go do pre-al homework (I'm only in seventh grade, for cryin' out loud!) so I'll post more later. bbl for the younger generation, be back later for the older folks.
