Most Painful Loss in Sports History

Hey whats up everybody, I haven't made a blog in a while. I was just thinking about this today, was the Patriots loss in Super Bowl XLII the most painful in sports history? I was thinking if that loss happened to me I would be absolutely devastated, be perfect for 18 games, 3 quarters, and 13 minutes and just let it slip away? Ouch! The Patriots were on the verge of completing the first undefeated season in 35 years, the first 19-0, and were about to be proclaimed as the greatest team in NFL history, and be put into discussion as THE greatest dynasty of all time, with Brady and Belechick being anointed the greatest ever at their respected positions, but they gave up a historic drive and now they are will be known forever as huge chokers. Here are some other recent painful blows 1998 NFC Championship Game- Falcons 30 Vikings 27 Super Bowl 34- Rams 23 Titans 16 1999 Stanley Cup Finals Game 6- Stars 3 Sabres 2 2000 Western Conference Finals Game 7- Lakers 88 Blazers 83 2001 AFC Divisional Playoff Game- Pats 16 Raiders 13 OT Super Bowl 36- Pats 20 Rams 17 2001 World Series Game 7- Diamondbacks 3 Yankees 2 2002 NFC Wild Card Game- 49ers 39 Giants 38 2002 World Series Game 6- Angels 6 Giants 5 2002 Western Conference Finals- Lakers 111 Kings 105 OT 2003 NFC Divisional Game- Panthers 29 Rams 23 2OT 2003 NFC Divisional Game- Eagles 20 Packers 17 OT Super Bowl 38- Pats 32 Panthers 29 2003 ALDS Game 5- Red Sox 4 Athletics 3 2003 NLCS Game 6- Marlins 8 Cubs 3 2004 AFC Divisional Game- Steelers 20 Jets 17 2004 ALCS Game 7- Red Sox 10 Yankees 3 2004 Western Conference Finals Game 5- Lakers 78 Spurs 77 2006 NFC Wild Card Game- Seahawks 21 Cowboys 20 2006 AFC Divisional Game- Pats 24 Chargers 21 2006 AFC Championship Game- Colts 38 Pats 34 2006 NLCS Game 7- Cardinals 3 Mets 1

2001 World Series Game 7- Diamondbacks 3 Yankees 2...this one was tough for me b/c of 9/11. The Yankees came out of nowhere when no one expected them to reach the Series. They rallied the city and if Mariano makes that throw to second over the bag, Aura and Mystique are still dancing in Pacman's favorite strip club.

Giants vs. 49ers in the play-offs is up there. What a melt down. Conservative Jim and Trey Junkin.

Honorable Mention: Game 7 1994? (I believe) Knicks vs. Rockets. Starks goes on a cold streak and Riley heads to Miami.

Great blog topic.

Congratulations!!!! You're the winner of the LB award!!!!!!!!!

To collect your prize for the lamest blog, turn your pockets inside out and kiss that bunny on the nose!

As a one of the biggest flip floppers in the history of this site, you should feel very proud for the lack of spine, and guts that you exhibit...truly a feat for any mammal to be devoid of a spine and the internal fortitude to follow one's own convictions!!!!

All we ask for in return, is that you don't procreate. Thank you.
