Rockingham Speedway News
Rockingham, N.C. - - Honoring Rockingham Speedway's history has been paramount for the new owner, Andy Hillenburg, since he acquired this track last Fall. On Friday, March 21, 2008, he continued his philosophy with the naming of the tower, garage and grandstands for three men instrumental in the speedway's legacy.
The Frontstretch tower housing race control, scoring, the track suites, and press box is now Benny Parsons Tower.
Recently retired NASCAR driver Ricky Rudd will now have his name on the first and second-turn grandstands, while the garage has been named for "Papa Joe" Hendrick, the father of Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick.

Justice Department Approves XM-Sirius Merger
The Justice Department approved Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.'s proposal of a $5 Billion dollar buyout of rival XM Staellite Radio Holdings Inc., saying the deal was unlikely to hurt competition or consumers.
The proposal still requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission, which prohibited a merger when it first granted satellite radio operating licenses in 1997. I guess we'll see what happens regarding their approval.
