I understand the deep rooted underlying reasons, but why the hell are we still obsessing on the Yankees? They are in last place and there are other teams in the division that are actually ahead of them, but NOBODY is talking about anyone else but the Yankees. We're treating them like they're 2 games out and right on our heels.

Of all the teams in the East, I'll agree that the Yankees pose the greatest threat. Or maybe not. They're old and broken down. Our starting pitching is far superior to theirs. Maybe Toronto or Baltimore pose a greater threat. We as Red Sox fans definitely obsess over the Yankees about 100 times more than Yankees fans obsess over the Red Sox. I think Yankees fans look at us as more as a pesky little brother who while annoying, really poses no threat and is merely an annoyance. And we, like a little brother wanting to emulate his big brother, obsess over their every move.

I remember reading a piece recently where it was said there was a story on the Yankees that wasn't treated as that big a deal in NY but was front page news on the Herald. Let's stop the obsession. The Yankees are DONE. Let's forget about them for this year.

P.S. - I loved Johnny Damon when he was here, but my God, a man with no arms throws better than him. Did you see the sacrifice fly last night where Toronto tied up the game? Damon's throw barely made it to second. I threw on the radar gun last year at Citizens Bank Park and barely hit 50 (to my chagrin 12 year olds were throwing faster than me) but I swear I could outthrow Johnny.

As a Yankee fan I would agree with you. Yankee fans find the hate from Red Sox fans funny. Today, 14.5 games back, there is concern about catching the Sox but I know this weekend my Red Sox friends will be much more concerned about telling me why the "yankees suck" than I will be about why the "red sox suck." I just want some wins

the Yankees are the Sox biggest threat in the division. They have enough talent there, and deep enough pockets to go after more that the ship should eventually right itself.

I think the biggest concern of both the Sox and the Nation should just be battling complacency.

If the fans have learned anything from being one strike away from winning the World Series in '86 and being three outs away from getting swept in the 2004 ALCS, it's that it's not over until it's over.

In boston clubhouse there lies an alien who can shapeshift in to a Blonde stripper (for bothering A-Rod); in to a nothing but blah blah catcher (jason Varitek); has a son (dustin Pedroia); and has voodoo power to send to DL all Yankee players.

Is that credible?????????? Am i making sense???????????
Where am I???? Fenway!!! AAARRRGGGHH!!!!

I find the Sox hate for the yankees really funny instead of serious, As a yankee fan, I love seeing the red sox suck and fail because since 2004, the sox have been one thing....OVERATED !!!!!
