After a great last year with the Red Sox and winning the World Series for the first time since 1918 (yes it still hurts to say that) Pedro Martinez was off to the Mets. The Sox Ace left Boston in a hurry for New York, and who would've believed where he'd be now. Let's run off a few stats before we go on:
Before Mets: 44 CG, 182 wins, 17 Shutouts, 2,653 K's
After Mets: 4 CG, 27 wins, 0 shutouts, and 378 K's
Pedro signed an awesome contract to pitch with the Mets and until 1 year later things were looking tight for Pedro. But then in 2006 Martinez found a new buddy, the DL. The once great pitcher is again stuck on the DL for another 4-6 weeks. I predict he will retire. He has plenty of money, an aching body, and the Mets have Johan. Right now would just be the perfect time for Pedro to call it quits.

don't count him out...plus...if i had to do it all over again id sign him again because his value is immeasurable to the franchise...he changed to attitude and the culture in queens and the mets have been a much better, more competitive team since.
sure, he hasn't brought the mets a championship but his presence just being on the roster...active or inactive...can't be taken for granted
that being said, its incredibly disappointing he got hurt when he did...but like i said...don't count him out...he's got a ton of heart packed in that small frame of his...he'll be back...mark my words
