I don't know how I got into this mess. I'm talking about being a Scrubs fan, I mean Cubs. Every year I have a little hope that their going to make some noise and every year they suck it up worse than the year previous. How can any team possibly play worse?  Getting tagged out at third base when there's a grounder to the SS. That's quite possibly the worst baserunning gaffe in the book.  The culprit was DeRosa and he said he's never even come close to doing that before in his entire career.  Players often have joined the "lovable losers" and seen their playing careers go down the crapper faster than Kate Moss' dinner.  The very next play Barrett gets picked off second. WTF!!!  Then there's Jacque Jones.  Probably the worst signing ever.  The guy cannot even throw the ball to second on a fly from mid-centerfield.  I'm sure there's at least 20 guys at AAA who can do better.  Oh, wait there's Felix Pie.  All he did was have a game changing defensive play and an RBI in his first game as a major leaguer and what happens?  They send him down because he needs to figure out how to hit at this level.  Oh, and JJ is doing such a good job at that!  Futhermore, the Soriano signing is proving to be paying dividends.  What a colossal waste of money!  My goodness...every time the Cubs sign someone coming off a career year usually means their headed down the slippery slope.  Hendry should be fired immediately.  He's had some good signings and many horrible ones, but nothing really in-between.  Don't get me started on their bullpen...the worst part of their team by far.  Management and the coaching staff said it was a strength at the beginning of the season.  I would love to get some of the stuff their smoking.  The bullpen has a 4-13 record so far, with 10 blown saves and has contributed in their nothing short of awful one run decisions 2-13.  What a joke. They really need to cut their losses and start from scratch.  Play young guys, develop, gain experience, and see what you got.  Start selling for the future!  The Cubs have been trying for years to build a winner with a "quick fix" approach and it's been an absolute disaster.  As far as my allegience to them, I don't know.  They're like a bad drug I keep going back to over and over again.  I wish I could just walk away and be done with baseball forever.  I would be a much happier person not having to wish, hope, and pray for a happy ending.  Oh, well I still have Da Bears.

As a Twins fan married to a Cub fan(even though she's a Southside girl), I would like to thank the Cubs for taking Jacque Jones off our hands. he looks like he is doing just about as good a job as another ex-Twins free agent signing named LaTroy Hawkins. They are still trying repair the divots in the walls and Left field bleachers in Wrigley from some of the bombs that he gave up.

At least you have the Bears...me, I'm stuck with the Vikings.
