7 innings,10 K's,no BB's,1 run,1 hit, perfect baseball through 5.Is this an ace pitching?Well maybe an ace of the future.22 years of age, young Johnny Cueto has burst upon the scene of MLB.

Cueto made his MLB debut Thursday April 3rd,and pitched like a veteran ace.Sure we reds fans have heard the raves and reviews of Cueto;arsenal of pitches,96 mph fastball, even the comparison as the next Mario Soto(non-reds fans may not be so familiar with him.)But did we expect this?

Making the third spot in the Reds rotation surprised some, but maybe not the people who've seen him play. This time last year he was in Single-A Dayton!I've heard such good things of him,but can he continue the success and high standards he set for himself? The expectations are sky-high now.

Can he stand the pressure? Will he be the next great Cincinnati pitcher?Should we start comparing him and raving about him?Is it too early?

Let's see,I hope he is.

Managers, coaches, and ex-players have spoken greatly of him.

I saw him pitch at Dayton, he made everyone look like blind 1st graders. Reds fans should be much more excited about this guy than they should Homer Bailey

This kid is the classic example of the sports media knowing about as much as the average idiot fan (like myself) does. I don't remember reading or hearing all that much about Cueto back in March from the national writers or our experts on ESPN for that matter. Wow, did he look good the other night!

Harang, Bailey, and Cueto. The Reds pitching is going to be really good.
