If I were a fan of the Baltimore Orioles or Milwaukee Brewers, I would count on hating the current front office crew in about five years. That's right, I am willing to predict that Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis and Brewers first basemen Prince Fielder will not be with their current team in five-to-seven years.

Very nice stuff. The Rockies have done a fantastic job with their core because they have money available and they are keeping all of their core together. No more Mike Hampton type signings for them.
The O's have the money to keep Markakis. Wouldn't make much sense to let him go. At least the Brew Crew still have more guys. O's got almost nothing right now besides of Nick and Adam in the OF.

I don't see Markakis leaving, and it's certainly possible for Fielder to head to Boston in a few, the advantage for the Brewers having a player that young is he still has some time left before he's even eligible for free agency. They signed Ben Sheets to a big deal, so they've shown the desire to keep their homegrown guys.

Do you THINK "Petey the Troll" even cares about this team?? But you're right: it IS the fault of the front office on both counts.

Yeah. Markakis I can KIND of justify, but there's no excuse for the Brewers to not cash in on the opportunity to sign Fielder for a large sum of $$$. Could end up to be a baad, baad move for Milwaukee.
