Not a bad week for the Yanks, but not a good week:
3-3 and 1.5 games back in their division, in 4th, but in LAST behind the Yanks are the RED SOX. (yes)!
So ,lets recap each game with a little summary:
OPENING DAY, April 1, 2008 TOR vs NYY
Yankees win 3-2
Recap:
Chien-Ming Wang pitched 7 innings and only gave up 6H and 2 ER 2 BB and 2K. JOBA and Rivera both pitched 1 inning of no hit ball. Joba with 1BB and 2K. Rivera OBB and 1K.
A-Rod, Melky Caberea, and Hideki Matsui all with RBIs
Melky homered, A-Rod with a 2-out RBI double, and Matsui bringing in the game-winning run on a fielder's choice.
So after all this the Yanks win!
Game 2: TOR vs NYY
Yanks loose 5-2
Mike Mussina pitched crappy and it took the Yankees all the way to the 7th inning to get their only runs on a Alex Rodriguez HR. On Toronto A.J. Burnett silenced the Yanks bats by only giving up the HR to A-Rod.
A bad game for the Yanks
Game 3 : TOR vs NYY
Yanks win once again 3-2
A pitching duel here with Phillip Hughes of the Yanks and Dustin Mcgowan ( bad spelling) each pitching 6 IN and giving up 2 R.
The Yanks win on a bloop single from Abreu and Melky scores and they give JOBA his first win and Rivera his second save
Game 4: TB vs NYY
NO BETTER THING TO SAY, BUT THE YANKS SUCKED. THAT IS THE RECAP TO THEIR 13-4 loss
Game 5: TB vs NYY
Yanks loose 6-3
Not a great game for Andy Pettite on his comeback. That is pretty much it, but A-rod and Posada with RBIs, Posada with 2.
Game 6: TB vs NYY
Yanks win 2-0
Wang, JOBA, and Rivera a great combination to get the Yanks a win.
Wang pitched 6 IN, JOBA with 2 and MO with 1. They all shut out the RAYS to get the Yanks their first win against the Rays. Their only offense, a 2 run- HR from "Godzilla" Hideki Matsui.
A recap of the week for the captain Derek Jeter .217, 5H, one a triple, 1 RBI, 2R, .250 OBP, .304 SLG, 2K, 1CS all of this in 6 games and 23 AB.
That is a recap for the Yankees first week of their season, I will do this periodically, but not every week, if anyone in this group want to do this every week or so, let me know.

Report Offensive CommentIf Torre were managing you can bet the Yanks would have lost at least 1 more to the Jays, and probably the third game in the Rays series because Torre wold have put in the 3 million dollar loser Farnsworth. Every move Girardi made this season so far has payed off. It's a sign of things to come.
