Rockies 12  Braves 6

Baseball is a funny sport.  Isn't it weird how when one team scores, another can usually match it the very next inning...not always pull ahead...but match it.  A lot of times a team scores 2 and the other can score 1 or 2, but not 3, keeping the score tied.  Does it have something to do with the competitiveness to tie it, but once its tied, you relax and that prevents you, or lowers your intensity to a point where you fail to score that one run that puts you ahead....at least for that inning?

Ok, back to the Braves...(yes we have to)

Chuck James really put them in a hole early with that 6 run 3rd inning.  I'm happy the bats woke up a little, but I believe that after getting a commanding lead, the Rockies probly played a little too relaxed.  Not to say they let us score, but like I said in the paragraph above...the competitive level wasn't the same as it would be in a tie game.

Mark Teixiera in my opinion needs to stand closer to the plate.  He can't seem to reach anything down the middle, except to drive it into the ground.  I'm confident that when the weather warms up, so will Teixiera.

I really think Escobar needs to lead off and have Kotsay or Johnson bat second.  Escobar is doing a great job getting on base, but there is usually one out already.  I think there will be a lot more chances for Chipper to drive him in that way....and then when Teixiera gets hot, he can drive Chipper in.

So Tim Hudson starts this afternoon.  Hopefully we can salvage one game in this series.  Colorado was due for a few wins coming in, but now the Braves are due.

GO BRAVES!!

James looked terrible in the 3rd inning. And I agree....Escobar should be leading off. Tex looks like he's pressing a bit; hopefully, he'll calm down and start hitting with some consistency.
The game this afternoon has been postponed due to snow; makeup game will be played on June 16.

man, I hate that I'm missing games, but then again it would seem that I'm not missing much.

It would seem to me like the team is just up and down. Give it a few weeks for them to find an identity. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about just yet. I mean at least we aren't the Tigers or Mets, talk about let downs thus far.

Right right. Hudson among others have the flu bug too...ATLfan15 your right James was horrible. I forgot to mention he hit three batters too....yikes.

They just optioned James back to the minors and called up and purchased the contract of a new pitcher Jorge Campillo. Not sure I remember hearing about him this spring. I'm wondering what is wrong with Buddy Carlyle.
