Not a happy night here at Agganis Manor - the Bruins got rolled in Montreal and Boston College mugged North Dakota at the Frozen Four. I'll just console myself with a few college basketball thoughts, looking back at this year's NCAA tournament and ahead to next season:

   * Thank you, Kansas and Memphis, for rescuing a tournament that threatened to slouch to a conclusion. After Thursday night of the Sweet 16, the only real thrills offered before the title game came from the Kansas-Davidson regional final.

   * The Jayhawks weren't the fastest team out there. Not the best rebounders, Not the most consistent bunch. But they had it all when they needed it, including a little luck too, and not just Memphis' foul shooting woes. Brandon Rush would've been long gone if he hadn't blown his ACL last year trying to buff up his NBA draft slot.

   * Who in his right mind would want the Oklahoma State job? A ho for the benjamins. That's not a university - that T. Boone Pickens' personal fiefdom. He DOES own the place, from the president and AD on down.

   * If the NBA wants to bump the draft age to 20, there'll be no complaint from me. We don't need many more one-and-dones.

   * Providence is getting bungled. Today, Travis Ford said no after spending yesterday getting the W&D treatment (hey, he turned down LSU, too, but that's a big ugly soap opera). Whatever you do, Friars, please, puh-leeze don't hire Fran Fraschilla out of desperation.

Good blog, Agganis. The NC was a very entertaining way to close out the college basketball season, and I would love for the NBA to change the draft age to 20. I would only get to see the very good players such as Rose and Beasley play another year of college ball.
