My Prediction: Josh Beckett
Why: After a phenomenal Cy Young like season last year, Beckett will put up similar numbers and lead the Red Sox back to the World Series. I predict his stats will be:
22-6, 2.68 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 202 Strikeouts
Other Candidates
C.C. Sabathia
Why: C.C. pitched great last year and should be another front-runner for the award. He's in his prime and I think is only improving his success. The Indians will again lose to the Sox in the ALCS. His stats will be:
20-8, 3.15 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 215 K's
Justin Verlander
Verlander should be in the Cy Young running this year after a phenomenal 2007 season, including that no-hitter. He could finish above Sabathia, and is my sleeper for the award. His predicted stats:
20-5, 3.23 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 199 K's
Also watch for:
John Lackey
Scott Kazmir
Felix Hernandez

Jessica Perez
Jessica Gomes
