FanNation - The Republic of Sport

A lot has happened in the last week and a half.  I can't believe I haven't been on here blogging with everything going on.  Wow what a tournament.  See how long its been for me.  Last time I did a blog was the final four.  Oh yeah and that whole airforce thing.  Well lets get down to business.

Kansas won the NCAA Championship.  Thats awesome.  Seriously though that game will go down as one of the best in a loooong time.  Real quick question for everybody.  WHAT IS THE ONLY SHOT IN THE GAME OF BASKETBALL THAT NEVER CHANGES!?!?!?!  I think if you want to go pro you should have to hit 85% from the free throw line.  You are about to get millions of dollars at least hit the one shot that will always be there for you.  It should be a constant.  "Coach let me work on my dunk more"  Yeah I doubt they say that.  But come on Memphis!  How many did they miss at the end 4 in a row or was it 6?

If Tiger keeps displaying all those emotions some random blogger will say "Hey look how Tiger acts, I bet he is on Roids" haha.  Seriously, then that will be going around, it will be on Sportscenter and Golf will come under fire for its lack of discipline on its players.  That would be great.  Then Congress can stop worrying about our growing deficit, and trying to figure out where Osama Bin Laden is and come up with ways to punish athletes.  Wait they already did that.

Speaking of Tigers.  How about it Detroit fans!  Whew all that money was worth it.  Now I know I will get one or two comments saying how early it is in the year.  And your right, it is very early.  And who knows they may win the World Series yet.  But for now I get to sit on my couch and point and laugh because you are behind my beloved Minnesota Twins in the division.  And don't say wait for the end of the season because I won't!  I am going to enjoy my moment while its mine.

The NFL Draft is coming up and rumors are flying.  My biggest feeling is that some team is going to get a steal taking Chad Henne in the second round.  Everyone keeps screaming that Matt Ryan is the best quarterback in the draft.  I got to watch ACC Football all year last year and well I am just not sold yet.  But I am just a fan, they don't pay me for my opinion.

Ozzie Guillen is hilarious.  I loved it when he said the Umpire didn't like him.  Ozzie stop saving your biggest temper tamptrums for this guy.  It creates a barrier.  Woosa. (Bad Boys II was a good movie.  Martin Lawrence and Will Smith were great in that flick.)  While we are talking about Sox how about the supposive Red Sox t-shirt buried in the visitors dugout.  That is awesome.  You see that is one of the reasons I should have been a concrete pourer for my career.  It would have been T-shirt and Jersey gallore.

I was going to move into the NHL Playoffs here but well....The Mavericks made it to the playoffs!  Remember everyone said they were done because Dirk got hurt now look at 'em.  Mark Cuban was giving everyone high fives, bloggers were allowed back in the locker room and fairies flew up out of the meadow.  Hey one round and done is better than nothing.  That Western Confrence is a beast!  Just think next year Portland should be in the mix as well.  I guess the NBA MVP race is down to Kobe and CP3.  Man, either one of those guys deserve it they are having great years.  LBJ and KG the weak Eastern Confrence is killing you. Its ok KG you will hoist a trophy this year.  Just like in Celtic Pride some crazy Boston fans will kidnap a member from the Utah Jazz.  Lets hope it turns out better in real life though because in the movie the Jazz won in 7.

Chris Henry you made me correct in my "10 Thoughts of a Sportsfanatic" Blog.  I just knew we were overdue for a boneheaded NFL athlete to do somethin well, boneheaded.  Or I can thank the cornerback that got rundown by local police.  His name escapes me at the moment, but don't worry Chris you are not alone, because he is there with you....
