First of all, I would like to talk about Chris Henry. What an idiot.
Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'll talk about the NBA MVP race, along with anything that really goes with this race. Kobe Bryant's Lakers beat CP3's Hornets today at Staples, 107-104. The Lakers were blowing the Hornets out in the first half, even getting a 30-point lead at one point, but the Lakers, like they always do, played with no aggression once they got that lead and eventually won by only 3. Peja Stojakovic shot lights out at towards the end of the game, Paul made some sick drives to the basket, along with nice assists, and Kobe had a crazy dunk that kind of made that commercial(you know, the one with the Aston Martin) look real. In my opinion, Kobe is now officially the MVP of the NBA, unless the Lakers fall apart. I mean, don't forget about the injury bug that the Lakers have been dealing with all year, and also Kobe's pinky. It's still injured, but everyone forgets because Kobe is still Kobe.
Now, the Padres. Jake Peavy looks dominant, although the Dodgers had him figured out a bit today. He still got the win over Brad Penny for the second time in consecutive weeks. As Padres play-by-play commentator, and frequent FOX broadcaster, Matt Vasgersian said, the Padres were "single-ing the Dodgers into submission." Before Jim Edmonds' double at around the 6th or 7th inning, the Padres had gone about 4 days without an extra base hit, and the Padres hit 14 singles today. FOURTEEN SINGLES! Well, I really don't think it's anything to brag about, but at least the Padres got their hits. Now, I think hitting coach Wally Joyner has a lot to do with this "singles approach," since he was a single hitting machine himself. Not that this approach is bad or anything. It actually fits pretty well with PETCO Park.
hm...let's see...what else, what else...Chien-Ming Wang completely dominated the Red Sox today, if the entire nation didn't know already, and he would have gotten a 1-hit shutout if Bobby Abreu wasn't stupid enough to run into the wall while going for the "barely over" home run hit by none other than...J.D. Drew! Haha....anyways, um yeah.
And, this may be a bit late, but I PREDICTED KANSAS TO WIN! AND THEY DID! YEAH! but i still lost my bracket. That's how crappy my bracket was. I mean, I had Butler meeting George Mason in the Elite Eight, and had Butler and Stanford in the Final Four with UCLA and Kansas. Stupid me. I got San Diego right though...Ha Ha.
And being a SoCal homer, I am obligated to root for the Anaheim Ducks, even though the only players I know on their team are Giguere and Pronger...did Pronger leave for another team? I don't even know...anyways, theyre already down 1-0, and got destroyed by the Dallas Stars 4-0 in the first game, with all the goals coming on power plays.
What else...eh....mm.............I guess that's it...um I thought I had more to say...oh yeah, the Masters! I honestly have no interest in it except for the fact that my friends and I will go on a road trip beginning in my home town of San Diego and ending at...Augusta, home of the Masters. Random fact huh?
And btw, I was watching the "Best Damn Sports whatever" thing and Deion Sanders was on...along with his wife! Wow she was smokin'...anyways, peace. I'll come post sometime later...
