According to Pete Abraham's blog, Jose Molina has a strained left hammy. He suffered the injury in the 4th inning last night but "sucked it up for the team" according to comments from Joe Girardi. It also mentions Posada was instructed not to throw last night. I guess that explains the switches Girardi made there in the 8th. If you read my last post, you'd know I wasn't a fan of those moves.
This isn't good news for the Yankees. Molina has been awesome behind the plate and has been swinging one of the team's hottest bats. Posada also doesn't feel ready to throw so he's not going to be an option against a team with so much speed like Tampa Bay.
Pete Abe thinks that the Yankees will likely call up Chad Moeller. If so, Chad has big shoes to fill because Jose Molina has done one heckuva job as Jorge's stand-in.
