This place started life as a Redskins blog, so with the NFL draft around the corner I figured it's high time I treat it as one.
The Skins can always draft a QB in the later rounds, so what to do with their 1st round pick (21st)?? Simple: find a replacement for Sean Taylor. That's it. I'm not gonna prattle on about who they should take; just saying fill the void left by Sean's death. Oh, and while I'm at it, I just can't see Chris Long going to the Rams; Miami, YES, but not the Rams.
(As long as it's not a NFC East rival...I see a fricking STAR on his helmet, Howie's kid or no, I lose respect for him. Christ, Chris Canty went to Virginia and he's playing for the Cowturds. Go somewhere else, Canty, and I'll respect you again.)
Well, that takes care of football; now, on to the Wizards...
We know now who the Wiz face in the 1st round: the Cleveland LeBrons. (Yes, I know it says "Cavaliers" on the front, but let's not kid ourselves, shall we??) Now the only question remaining is, who gets home court advantage?? Basically, if the Wizards win out--and Cleveland loses out--Games 1 and 2 are @ Verizon Center.
3 straight years, we've faced the LeBrons; the last 2 years, they've whipped up on us. Not THIS time, "King"!!! Gil's already gone public saying this. Point is, regardless of who gets home court, this is going 7 games...and the Wiz pull this out in the end.
My Caps blog is becoming the go-to blog for the Flyers series; I got a feeling this place becomes the same thing for the Wizards' run to the NBA title. What's that Stan Lee line again?? "With great power, comes great responsibility". Sounds about right...
