My whole life I've been waiting for something to happen to a Philadelphia team. The Eagles have been getting so close recently but ripping the heart out of Philadelphia. Our fans being the craziest, flips out every time any Philadelphia team loses. I've never really followed hockey but I know that it is the same old story with the Flyers as it is all of the other teams.
The Phillies have always had at least one mvp yet they can't get wins. They have a great offence and are stacked this year but like always they have a terrible bull pen. Hamels is new hope but he can't do it all himself, although he's been trying to do it all recently anyway. Victorina also new to the Phillies has been doing great as a Philly, and one of the fastest players in the league as well as Bourne.
The Eagles are very experienced. Their vets leading the team. They include Walker, McNabb, Westbrook, Dawkins, and so on. They have come so close and been stopped by a few yards by the Patriots. The Eagles can't keep a good wide out when they can actually get their hands on one. Stallworth recently lost as well as Owens a couple of years ago. I don't care how big of an ego T.O has as long as he wins us games by making catches like he did when he played for us, I'm happy. Although the attitude could have changed he was great on the field. McNabb's injuries haven't been helping us at all. I can't remember the last time he played for at least a full season.
Unlike the Eagles the Sixers are far from experienced. After recently losing their most complete vets C Webb, and Iverson they are left a young team full of potential. The Sixers have struggled coach wise not helping out their situation at all. They have young players and good draft spots. In a few years they are going to be stacced, but for now they have to just stay alive and not get injured.
Some of you may have heard of the curse of William Penn. This curse is that if Philadelphia builders build taller buildings then the Penn building then there will be a course. Of course the Philadelphia builders avoided building taller buildings but found a way that would hopefuly avoid it. They built there buldings behind the skyscraper to try to trick Penn. Of course now Philly hasn't won a Superbowl, Championship, Stanley cup, or any of those recently and probobly won't for a while. Because the Course Of Penn lives on to torment Philadelphians everywhere.

Philly needs to get its act together. If not, people will turn to their next door neighbor, my home state...NJ! Hey, I'm a New Jersey kind of guy.

It actually use to be against zoning laws in Philadelphia to build above the William Penn statue, but there was no threat of a curse. It was a matter of respect. The Penn statue was to be the highest point in Philadelphia. But you are right, eventually contractors got caught up in the skyscraper craze and went on to build taller buildings anyway. And ever since they did that, none of the four major franchises has won a championship. That is why the belief of a curse from William Penn lurks.
