The 2005 affair didn't take long. Arlovski knocked Sylvia to the mat then forced him to tap with an Achilles lock at 0:47 to claim the interim title. Arlovski held on to the title until this date two years ago when he met up with Sylvia for round two.
This time they fought at UFC 59 in Anaheim, California and it was another quick contest. Sylvia caught Arlovski at 2:43 of round one for the knock out. The win improved Sylvia to 21-2 and gave him the belt for a second time (He was early stripped of it for steroids).
Less than three months later Arlovski was given a chance to snatch the belt back from Sylvia, but the two fought a five round snooze fest in which Tim earned the easy unanimous decision.
Now, as of April 15, 2008 Sylvia is scheduled to fight Fedor Emelianenko this summer outside of the UFC and rumors are swirling about Andrei Arlovski matching up with Josh Barnett, also outside of the promotion.
