Shockley's Falcons job in danger
...The injured left knee that cost Shockley his 2007 season hasn't completely healed. The injury was awful timing because constant turnover at quarterback created opportunities.

Here's the thing: I don't think he was as good as everyone here in the ATL thinks.  Sure, he hasn't had much playing time but I have pretty much watched every Falcs preseason game since he has been around and even been to watch training camp a couple of times. Georgia LOVES the Bulldogs so in most people eyes he can do no wrong and I hate to think that the Falcons brass have kept him around this long for PR reasons. If it were left up to me I would have ditched him and waited till the 2nd or 3rd to draft a QB.  In other words try to get Joe Flacco.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I think that the Falcons are going to be OK at QB this year. Redman and Harrington are back as well and the only QB that I can't blame the O-line for their performance was Byron Leftwhich and of course he is long gone.  What a HORRIBE experiment in stupidity that was on Petrino's part, but then again it's obvious the guy had no business coaching in the NFL.

The whole drafting Matt Ryan thing is what irritates me about mock drafts.  Most of the time those who publish them think that the draft is like a big game of Tetris.  Just shove a block in were it obviously needs to go when in fact it's more like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube.  You have to see the bigger the picture and be more familiar with the teams depth chart therefore thinking how each move effects the other parts.

Plus the draft day trades and Miami Dolphins picking out their arse tend to send everyone's mock draft to shreddies.
