So what if the Caps were shut down Sunday afternoon?? Better these young studs who played under Bruce Boudreau @ Hershey (before they put on the red of Washington) realize now, this ain't Hershey!!! Winning a Calder Cup--the American Hockey League champoinship--back in '06 is wonderful, but...you're not playing in front of 9 thousand people @ the Giant Center.
It's more like 18,000, at the Verizon Center...or, for the next 2 games, the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
I've said the Caps win this series in 5 games; of course, I also said the Flyers would win only 1 game in Philly. Who knew Martin Biron would turn into Ken Fricking Dryden on Sunday??
Anyway, the game's in a half hour from now. Boudreau's got 'em ready for tonight.
Now, I'd be remiss if I didn't say something about the Red Wings-Predators game last night. I mean, Nashville scores 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd--2 within 19 seconds of one another. I caught the tail end of this on Versus, and I'm a bit surprised. (I'll let the Detroit fans talk about it on THEIR blogs, to be fair.)
Oh, and the Penguins can wrap up their series tomorrow night. Just so you're updated...

You should thank you're lucky stars that the Carolina Hurricane's had a melt down,and you won a divison that is weak as my moms left arm. As for my alleged "man-crush" for Alex: I happen to believe the man IS the future of the NHL (along with Crosby). We HAVE a supporting cast, BTW, and if Flyer fans would stop putting one thumb in their mouths and the OTHER thumb up their bungholes (and playing "switch")...you'd KNOW that factoid.
At least Penguin fans know who to back in this series (and it AIN'T the Flyers!!!).

the caps aren't lookin' so hot. ovechkin is getting shut down. briere is playing out of his mind. the caps defense isn't good at all. i think philly's got it. the caps made a nice run, but unless someone other than ovechkin can make plays and the defense plays HALF decent, they won't move on. sorry DC
