This was the game where Duke and Coach K went from another team to the team to beat. This game was a year off the UNLV crushing of Duke 101-71 in the 1990 Championship game. UNLV entered the game 34-0 with a winning average of more than 27ppg while averaging 98+ppg. They defeated a Georgetown team that featured Mutombo and Mourning. Duke on the other had was a 30-5 2nd seed.
