Celtic, in desperate need of a win over rivals Rangers in their chase for the SPL title, came out dynamically against the Glasgow rivals today. Possibly the most important game of the season, Celtic needed to come out strong and work for a full 90 minutes with each player giving a full out amazing effort.

And they did.

Celtic stormed out the gate and immediately took control of the game in front of a sold out crowd at Celtic Park, and after 20 minutes the Bhoys capitalized with an amazing goal from Shunsuke Nakamura.

Celtic went on to control the game for the first half, with Rangers getting their first shot on goal in the 40th minute.

The Bhoys continued their dominance at the beginning of the second half, but were put down when Rangers sub Nacho Novo leveled terms for Rangers.

In the 70th minute Rangers lead defender Carlos Cuellar was sent off for a deliberate handball that would have seen Celtic go up 2-0, giving Nakamura another goal. Celtic were awarded a penalty kick, but Scott McDonald's shot was stopped amazingly by Ranger goalkeeper Alan McGregor.

McGregor was hurt soon afterward and was subbed out. Daniel Cousin also came on for the Rangers in place of Jean Claude Darcheville and Georgios Samaras replaced Barry Robson for more attacking options for the Celts.

Injury time quickly approached, with Celtic laying seige on the Ger's goal, and amazingly Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink struck in the 4th minute of injury time to put Celtic ahead for good. Final: 2-1 Celtic

More on this game in a little bit, but frankly this has to be the most amazing game Celtic have played all season. More unbelievable than their win over AC Milan. More heartstopping than the win over Shakhtar Dontesk.

Scoring in injury time to draw within one point of the first place team, in the closing weeks of the season in the most important match of the season in the toughest rivalry in Europe? The puzzles fit together for one of the most amazing games in SPL history to date.

Just another reason why this is known as the Beautiful Game

Once again, more on this in a bit

Celtic needs to beat them the next time we play for another 3 point swing. This is awesome. Celtic defends Parkhead. We are going to need a miracle, but if it would happen to any team, it would happen to Celtic.
