In 2003, superstar Devils goalie Martin Brodeur was divorced by his wife.  Because she was suing for financial and child support, the events of those proceedings became public. 

Melanie Dubois confronted the goalie about whether or not he had been unfaithful to her with her sister.Brodeur then confessed to this deed.  As a result, he made many players in the NHL and human beings in general scratch their incredulous heads. 

Needless to say, he was serenaded around the NHL during away games by harsh and vocal fans.  I have heard these chants at MSG and it's hard not to laugh.  Due to their explicit nature, I am unable to type them.

Why a guy of his stature would choose to go ala Clinton and not score with someone of a high caliber, (if one would choose to be unfaithful) is beyond me.  For all of you whom say, "Awesome for him" and "Right On," consider that if you were in his shoes you would make a brick.  That's a tough one to have to explain to your child.

Through my research on this topic I was unfortunately unable to find out if Brodeur ended up marrying his ex-wife's sister.  There is no mention of it on the sites I visited but perhaps someone knows better and can advise.  I would imagine that he has just moved on instead of facing drama-packed holidays and family events.
