People in Indiana are loyal fans. The funniest thing happened after bob knights firing, though. People were once thought of Indiana die-hards were really Bob Knight die-hards. Some fans started watching Texas Tech games and wearing Texas Tech clothing. I remember when this happened, one of the worst days of my life as a hoosier die-hard. In-state recruits started leaving and attendence went down. Even though three years after making to the national title seeing those same fans cheering on Mike Davis' Underachievers. I cheered on Mike Davis' teams. The next year with a subpar record and eventually until his end they chased him out of town with our best player. Im a Bob Knight fan. I love him. He's a legend. Etc...
People in Indiana were startled by the way it happened. Myles Brand, IU President challeged Bob Knight with a "Zero-Tolerance" policy and Bob Knight challenged that. Later the NCAA said "If you can handle Bob Knight, then you can handle being NCAA President", some year(s) later. Having a coach that not everybody thinks should be there sucks! Then when Kelvin Sampson comes in everyone thinks this is the man. I wanted to believe that this could be the man. He wasnt though. Even after finally sealing his fate a great coach. But not being an honest human-being cost him the job: bringing back that same taste after the firing of Knight.
All Tom Crean has to do is recruit (especially IN-STATE). He already has a reputation as a good coach, person, recruiting guru, defensive minded. Hes already showed he can develop talent with Dwayne Wade (too bad for Gordon). One thing he wont do is commit a rules' violation.

Hopefully the Hoosier faithful can give Crean a good chance to succeed. Not just jump on his back after a few years and want to get rid of him. We'll have to ride the wave of good and bad.
