Hang on a minute while I put my broom away and remind the Senators that tee time is at 10am.

Alright, well so far one of the first round playoff predictions has come true; Pittsburgh eliminated Ottawa. Being a huge Penguins fan since the age of 7, I've got to give kudos to the boys for getting the job done.

However while watching the post game comments by a few hockey analysts, I can't help but notice that all of the focus is: where did Ottawa go wrong? Hey, where is the respect for the skill of the Pens???

Ottawa lost, yes partly because they stunk up the second half of the season, but mainly because the Pens are just that much better. They dominated the games, they dictated the play, they outhustled and outplayed Ottawa in 90% of the series.

I can imagine there will continue to be talk about how bad the Sens were and what they need to do to improve. But let's pay Pittsburgh their dues.

PENS ALL THE WAY!

No argument there......but don't forget the kudos to Therrien and Yeo!

Well..while I respect the Penguins - Ottawa was just God-awful. Really.

The Reason analyst are not onboard with the Penguins, is because they didn't show anything for anyone to jump onboard with. This is not the fault of the penguins though, but a reflection of the poor, uninspired play of the Senators. It wasn't domination by the pens, it was lack of competition on the sens part; they appeared listless and disinterested at times, with the exceptions of a few individual efforts. They had a number unpressured turnovers in their own end, and forced far too many plays in the offensive end, causing more turnovers. The Sens didn't bring their A-game, it wasn't even a B-game, it was just going through the motions. No one knows the reasons for sure, but the Senators never challanged the Penguins once, so how can we be sure if the Penguins have the mettle to go all the way?

Not sure if the Sens could beat the Marlies right now..., they were horrible. I know that Alfredsson was out and Fisher as well but, Heatley, Spezza, Stillman (who they got for this time of year!) didn't pull their weight and Gerber stunk up the place! Go Pens go!

You guys must not have watched any Pens playoff games, Gerber was great. It could have been 8-2 every game if not for him. He was tough. Im a huge Pens fan and the Pens did no wrong, they played the system and beat the livin snot out of Sens.
