Currently the projected starter for the Dolphins is still last years second round draft pick John Beck, but some fans still don't believe he is the answer and would rather draft another QB. Josh McCown in an interview with Dan Lebatard on 790 the ticket said he plans to start for the Dolphins. Either way some fans will be disappointed in who ever starts. Other QBs on the roster include Casey Bramlet NFL Europe MVP and Matt Baker a Parcells/Ireland guy who used to play for the Cowboys. They are most likely training camp players and possibly practice squad players. For the moment it looks like as some news articles report that Parcells and Ireland like Beck and he will be the starter for the beginning game versus the Jets barring injury.

The Dolphins could possibly use the draft to bolster their QB core but I don't really see that as likely. In the 2nd round their could be possibly Chad Henne or Brian Brohm in the second round and people really want to take them if they are there, but would you want to pass up making the defense or offensive line as a whole better. Because to get up and down the field the QB needs to be protected and to get the ball the defense needs to stop the opposing defense. Because their could be players like Calais Campbell and/or Chilo Rachal who could both bolster the offensive line or defensive line.

If their is a QB steal in the late rounds maybe the 5th round and up, the possibility of drafting a QB goes up. Players like Josh Johnson, Erik Ainge or Kevin O'Connell are the ones most likely to be picked. None of these players are really game changers but they could surprise some in training camp and be a very good back up for McCown/Beck. It would add a young QB to the roster and allow for him to train for the future. The likelihood of drafting a QB in this draft is a moderate chance and some fans are really hoping for one. Its not going to be Matt Ryan but when will the player be picked is the question, if its the second round it means they don't have much faith in Beck and if its later they are just drafting in him to bring in a youthful QB.
